P&O Cruises Australia announced the reopening of two more cruise destinations, Mystery Island and Luganville, Vanuatu, with the Pacific Adventure. According to a press release, the community of Aneityum welcomed P&O Australia’s Pacific Adventure and its 2,000 passengers back to Mystery Island.

The Pacific Adventure stopped in Vila, Vanuatu’s capital, before arriving in Luganville. “The return of Pacific Adventure to Mystery Island and Luganville completes the set of Vanuatu destinations that underpins our deep attachment to Vanuatu and its island communities,” said Marguerite Fitzgerald, president of Carnival Australia and P&O Cruises Australia.

Following the Pacific Adventure’s visit to Mystery Island, there will be a series of community initiatives. P&O has been collaborating with the Aneityum community in preparation for the ship’s visit for some time.

Among the initiatives are:
– Contributing to the registration and safety training of 80 boat operators;
– Obtaining 500 lifejackets for boat operators in order for them to fully comply with national safety regulations; and
– Funding the reinstallation of marker buoys for the safe operation of ship tenders.

In December, the Pacific Adventure will return to Mystery Island and Vila, Vanuatu, as part of a ten-night Christmas cruise from Sydney to Champagne Bay, Espiritu Santo.
