Activities Host

Position Summary:

The Activities Host will act as the energy generator for daytime entertainment and evening events. TheActivity Host along with the Activity Manager and DJ make up the Cruise Directors core team. This team is responsible for the delivery of the Celebrity experience through socializing, hosting events, and daytime Entertainment. Serves as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of guests’ throughout their cruise vacation.

Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Company’s Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

Qualifications:

• College or University degree in theater, performance or dance preferred.
• Two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance,
comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, cruise lines, entertainment or recreational
industries required.
• Special talents, such as singing, dancing, ballroom dancing, juggling preferred.
• Previous experience as a host in a luxury hotel or resort, convention center, public
relations or in a related hospitality function.
• Exceptional customer service skills to interact appropriately with guests in a considerate,
professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively.
• Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within
variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to work under pressure and independently.

• Continuously interacts with guests; coordinates, hosts, and is the Master of Ceremony for all
adult recreational activities including, but not limited to dance, sports, art classes, karaoke, choir,
game shows, video game tournaments, and atmospheric performances.
• Participates in guest embarkation and debarkation procedures as scheduled by the Activity
Manager.
• Socializes with guests in public areas at all times. Visits lounges at various times and converses
with as many guests as possible as time allows.
• Directs guests on and off the gangways of the ship during visits to ports of call. Coordinates tour
counts and departures.
• Assists in the coordination and operation of audio and/or visual equipment for events as needed
in support of the Sound and Light Staff.
• Participates and/or coordinates shows, events and sports activities presented by the
Entertainment Department. Cruise Director and/or Activity Manager will advise of
responsibilities.
• Acts as master of ceremonies for the Bingo program and related promotions.
• Supports the promotion of revenue generating areas as requested by the Cruise Director or
Activity Manager.

Physical & Language Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to
touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and
drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required
to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• All shipboard employees must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and
interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and
verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and
co-workers.
