Hotel Assistant – Housekeeping
Standard Role Summary:
Clean crew and public areas effectively and efficiently as directed using the correct chemicals and processes.
Primary Responsibility of the Role:
Undertake the cleaning and sanitisation of allocated areas, including vacuuming and dusting. Clean up any spillages and carry out carpet shampooing and deep cleaning as required. Clean and sanitise assistance dog facilities. Complete general maintenance requirements as directed and report maintenance defects to supervisor. Maintain and use equipment effectively and safely at all times, store equipment away correctly and collect and return cleaning rags. Identify and report on any fixtures or fittings that need repair or renewal. Prepare flood prevention equipment and take to relevant when required.
Collect and return all Guest laundry and dry cleaning. Deliver any newspapers, daily programmes and Guest mail as required.
Maintain, clean and tidy lockers and complete stock takes as required. Set up and break down pool furniture and prepare and clear rooms and cloakrooms for meetings and functions, including the setting up / breaking down of chairs and tables.
Assist with the issuing of hotel supplies as directed. Collect and distribute Guest luggage and assist Guests in wheelchairs on the gangway when embarking and disembarking the ship. Assist other departments onboard the ship as and when required.

Emergency Duties |
Understand own emergency duties and routines onboard ship
Take an active part in the ship’s team response to an incident Ensure familiar with ship’s emergency alarms and routines Ensure familiar in the use of all fire fighting appliances located within area of responsibility Ensure familiar in the use of the ship’s life saving appliances and equipment including lifeboats and liferafts Participate fully in all relevant drills and training Know how to raise the alarm when necessary Able to identify escape routes and emergency exits Understand the function and operation of fire screen / splash tight and watertight doors Undertake Guest assistance including the use of evacuation chairs, helping Guests that require assistance from their cabins to the relevant muster station Undertake other emergency duties / routines within the ERP as directed Undertake any other emergency duties required that are specific to vessel Follow all emergency procedures as directed |
Safeguarding |
