Reports To: Assistant Executive Housekeeper (Back of House)

Job Summary: Ensure public and team member areas are kept to HAL cleanliness and maintenance standards. Supervises Housekeeping Attendants and Night Stewards.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Delegate work assignments, monitor and supervise public area and team member area cleaning teams by ensuring that employees work effectively in accomplishing the tasks, in order to meet the quality level and standards of the company.
  • Effectively supervise public area and team member area cleaning teams by providing ongoing coaching, guidance, training and correction, through good communication, motivation and demonstration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping, to include but not limited to public area and team member area inspections, maintenance reports, and carpet shampoo schedules. Report Housekeeping equipment repairs needed and follow up on job orders to ensure satisfactory completion. Prepare any other paperwork as required by Assistant Executive Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper to keep areas clean and up to company standards.
  • Actively supervise open deck areas under Housekeeping and ensure proper service is provided.
  • Liaise with Laundry team to ensure open decks always have fresh supply of towels or blankets as required.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of all Housekeeping public and team member areas equipment and supplies in accordance with budget.
  • Complete monthly fitness reports for all assigned public and team member area cleaning team and submit to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper for revision and issuance.
  • Prepare and remove special set up/arrangements in public areas for functions and/or meetings.
  • Conduct regular training for public and team member areas cleaning team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace, with emphasis on employee health and fire/chemical safety.
  • Inspect assigned area of responsibility and take corrective action as needed.
  • Enforce policies and procedures outlined in Company Standards and Procedures and ensure that maintenance of all assigned areas are in compliance with public health standards, and company standards. Prepare for public health inspections and participate, as appropriate.
  • Arrange luggage bins and baggage tagging and be fully involved with baggage handling operations. Submit luggage manning schedule for approval to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
  • Supervisor productivity and time attendance of the of the night laundry staff
  • Interact with the guests and employees in positive manner.
  • Maintain effective and productive working relationships with staff, peers, managers and officers.
  • Follow and adhere to all health and safety procedures, training and requirements.
  • Comply with company policy regarding waste separation and environmental compliance
  • Conduct regular training with all departmental team members on food waste separation and environmental compliance as per Global Hess policies
  • Champions the use of the Navigator App experience tools to drive greater onboard revenue and guest satisfaction performance
  • Lead by example in matters of professionalism, ethics, responsibility, integrity, ownership, engagement and personal presentation
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as related to facility maintenance/cleanliness, guest requirements and various orders assigned by Assistant Executive Housekeeper / Executive Housekeeper.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Preferred College or University degree/diploma in Hospitality Management related field preferred. International equivalent suffices.
  • Minimum 1-year leadership experience in the Hospitality Industry showing progressive growth in responsibility.
  • Preferred 1 years of shipboard experience within the Housekeeping Services environment.
  • Able to work well and communicate effectively with both shipboard personnel.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle constantly changing priorities.
  • Leadership, training and organizational skills demonstrated through experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Public Health and Sanitation protocols.
  • Working knowledge of computers and the ability to navigate within a variety of software programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
