POSITION SUMMARY

The 3rd Assistant Electrician shall carry out the work orders given by Chief ElectricalEngineer or 1st Electrical Engineer. They are skilled workers capable of working withminimum supervision, and with the ability to undertake basic electrical maintenance,repair work and basic troubleshooting.

1. Each 3rd Assistant Electrician shall receive his specific job description inwriting from the Chief Electrical Engineer, when he signs on the ship or if thejob description has been changed. The specific job description shall be filed inthe ships Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

2. Responsible for all interior and exterior (deck) lighting; ensure it is workingand lamped up at all times.

3. Performs the light rounds on daily basis.

4. Repairs electrical equipment in guest and crew cabins.

5. Repairs vacuum cleaners.

6. Repair of electrical tools etc.

7. Is familiar with and operate within the AVO System.

8. Maintains cleanliness and order in the electrical and electronic workshops ,and electrical lockers all over the ship.

9. Cleans and maintains filters of electrical dimming racks.

10. Helps Storekeepers with storing.

11. Performs duties as assigned by the supervisor.

12. Performs related duties as required for the Marine Department. Thisposition description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties tobe performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position.

13. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-relatedduties assigned by their supervisor or management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Hiring Requirements:

Must possess minimum 2 years’ experience in related field
Must hold Electrical Studies certificate(s) or diploma(s) in area of technicalspecialty.
Three or more years’ progressive electrical/technical experience and training in theelectrical field.
Ability to perform the recommended responsibilities according to the JobDescription.
Previous exposure to international environments strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate verbally and written with proficiency in English.
Ability to work with an international staff in a positive and productive manner.

Internal Candidate Requirements:

In addition to the stated hiring requirements, internal candidates are required tofulfill the following:

Must complete one full contract, with a performance rating of meets expectations orabove, with Royal Caribbean International before any placementwill occur.
No written warnings on file within the past 6 months.
Must successfully complete the process for shipboard job applications.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Language Requirements:

Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and employees.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret writtenprocedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written andverbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions fromguests, management and co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; andtaste orsmell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be physically able to participate in emergency situations on site, which includeemergency life saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs aswell as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and giveinstructions in theevent of an emergency. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
