We are cray-sea foodies and we assume you are too! This ‘someone’ will help create the most fresh, fun, and fierce dining experience for our sailors. They will work closely with the Chef De Cuisine, Chef De Partie, & Sous Chef.

In other words, this ‘someone’ needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won’t be able to remember how we got by without you.

What You’ll be Up to:

  • Provide the most epic dining experience for our guests at all times
  • Produce and prepare all basic menu food items
  • Able to work within any section of the outlet and identify flavor/seasoning balances and correct and discrepancies
  • Follow the menus, recipes, guidelines and methods provided
  • Report any machinery/technical faults to Chef De Cuisine
  • Ensure that they are working to company, HACCP, and USPH guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas
  • Carry out clear down routines after service and ensure the appearance and condition of all items meet Virgin Voyages standards
  • Notify Chef De Cuisine of any guest complaints raised and seek to resolve
  • Be familiar with all cruise service/features and activations to respond to guest inquiries3 accurately

Super Powers Required:

  • Minimum 2 year’s experience as Assistant / Junior Cook onboard a cruise ship or 4 / 5* hotel/resort
  • Possess advanced knife handling skills
  • Basic knowledge of food handling procedures with regard to public health standards
  • Basic understanding of food specifications
  • Knowledge of Vessels Sanitation Program regulations and procedures
  • All certificates required by the STWC
  • Strong written & verbal skills
