Food Storekeeper

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible to assist F&B Provision Master in the ordering, loading, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuance of all Food products. Assist the F&B Provision Master in the maintenance of quality and quantity control of food inventoried items. Individual will be responsible to keep the food storerooms clean and organized at all times. Support the inventory team to fulfill and complete all initiatives related to loading and storing of inventoried items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Celebrity Cruises pillars of Safety, Service and Style, ISM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safety policies.
1. In accordance with Celebrity Cruises’ Pillars of Safety, Service and Style, as well as through Celebrity Connections, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard crewmembers and/or in the presence of guest contact and crewmember areas.
2. Responsible for assisting the F&B Provision Master in safekeeping and the issuance of food products.
3. Responsible for assisting the F&B Provision Master in maintaining all Food storerooms clean and in compliance with USPH regulations and guidelines.
4. Participates in the loading and storing process of all food inventoried items.
5. Ensures segregation of goods based on pick lists provided by the F&B Provision Master
6. Disburses merchandise from the storerooms following the pick-up times established in the Internal Requisitioning Timetable for Food Department.
7. Responsible for assisting the F&B Provision Master in maintaining proper rotation of merchandise using FIFO (first in – first out) procedures and for monitoring shelf-live of all Food Products.
8. Responsible for monitoring proper temperatures of all Food storerooms.
9. Responsible for reporting to the F&B Provision Master the spoilage and breakage of inventoried items.
10. Responsible for executing additional responsibilities assigned by F&B Provision Master and/or the Inventory Manager concerning the cleanliness and sanitation procedures for USPH.
11. Responsible for taking the necessary precautions actions to avoid bodily injuries and/or damages to company’s property when using chemical and cleaning material.
12. Assists the Inventory Manager with assigned duties required by the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Organization.
13. Comply with all corporate standards and procedures as they relate to the entire Celebrity fleet.
14. Follow ship’s rules and regulations as stipulated in the Employee Handbook and respect all Senior Ranking Officers and fellow staff.
15. Attend and participate in all mandatory lifeboat safety drills on embarkation days and any other port days as scheduled by the Master. Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard crewmembers will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial responsibilities for budget, expenses and/or achievement of revenue targets.
§ This position is responsible for direct cost containment through the proper purchasing and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
§ Conducts workstation spot checks to ensure items are correctly stored to minimize deterioration and waste.

MOTIVATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

People management responsibilities to ensure optimal performance of the function.
§ This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job.

Hiring Requirements:

§ Basic Schooling.
§ At least 3 years experience as storekeeper at a reputable hotel, or at comparable firm that stores high volume of merchandise.
§ Computer knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Promotion Guidelines:

§ Individual must complete at least 2 contracts as Food/Beverage Storekeeper.
§ Evaluation must have recommendations from immediate supervisor, Inventory Manager, and Financial Controller.
§ Knowledge of company’s inventory system.
§ Awareness of product specifications.
§ Organized and good with numbers.

Language Requirements:

§ Ability to speak and read clearly in English.
§ Ability to write business correspondence.
§ Ability to communicate with management.
§ Ability to understand and interpret written procedures.
§ Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

§ Ability to calculate and analyze basic mathematical computation.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
All shipboard crewmembers must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
