POSITION SUMMARY

Duties as directed by Chief Engineer, these will primarily be washing and paintingjobs, as well as participation in maintenance work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Royal Caribbean International expects each shipboard management team member torelentlessly exemplify the principles of the Anchored in Excellence Credo to all teammembers. In addition, all duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordancewith Royal Caribbean International’s The Royal Way, SQM standards, USPHguidelines, environmental, and safety policies.

Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various servicevenues and throughout the ship.

1.In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s philosophy ofAnchored inExcellence, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteousmanner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions withguests or fellow shipboard employeesand/or in the presence of guest contactand crewareas.

2.RCL places the highest value on the environment, and all employees shall dothe same. Those assigned to this position shall work with superiors andsubordinates to understand and comply with the company’s environmentalpolicies and be committed to safeguard the environment. He shall directly andimmediately inform his immediate superior if any environmental system doesnot function properly.

3.In general, they will keep the engine spaces safe, clean and tidy at alltimes.

4.Participate in maintenance work, under supervision.

5.Additional routines and work as assigned by Chief Engineer.

6.Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-relatedactivities as required both on board and ashore.

7.Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way statesor implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboardemployee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required toperform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor ormanagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job.

Hiring Requirements:

The Junior Engineman must hold the certificates required by the Flag State andhe should have basic safety training before employment.

Internal Candidate Requirements:

In addition to the stated hiring requirements, internal candidates are requiredto fulfill the following:
Completion of one full contract with a performance rating of satisfactory orabove.

Language Requirements:

Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret writtenprocedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in writtenand verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond toquestions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or Germanpreferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularlyrequired to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with handsand arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally liftand/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this jobinclude close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depthperception, and ability to adjust focus.
All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergencylife saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well asfull visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and giveinstructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
