POSITION SUMMARY

Conduct daily administrative duties for the vessel’s Marine Management, maintaining strictconfidentiality as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues andthroughout the ship.All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with RoyalCaribbean International’s The Royal Way, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and safetypolicies.

1. In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s philosophy ofAnchored in Excellence, eachemployee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner atall times. This consists ofphysical and verbal interactions with guests or fellowshipboard employeesand/or in thepresence of guest contact and crewareas.

2. Assists Captain when presenting regulatory ship certificates, licenses & endorsements when PortState Control comes onboard the vessel as well as when the Harbor Master requires reviewingthese documents.

3. Performs Clerical Duties as outlined in the Marine Administrative Assistant SOP

4. Attends meetings, training events, and prepares minutes

5. Administers the Safety First program completing the tasks specified in SQM.

6. Assist Captain, Staff Captain, Chief Engineer and the Division Heads with administrative dutiesrelated to the daily operation in the Deck & Engine Department.

7. Makes suggestions to improve processes, schedules or policies to achieve related goals andobjectives.

8. Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work related activities as required.

9. The procedures and duties shall be performed as per the Marine Administrative Assistant’sManual and the templates are to be used as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree with an emphasis on Business Administration, or equivalent experience isrecommended. Marine background is a plus.
Experience organizing and administrating a busy office environment, possess strong business andcommunication writing skills. Ability to operate basic office equipment, including calculators,telephones, and copy machines.

Internal Candidate Requirements:

Completion of one full contract with a performance rating of satisfactory or above.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Proficient knowledge in computer software programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and theinternet, is required. Knowledge of Access, Lotus Notes, AMOS, Enterprise One and ENCOREare a plus.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Knowledgeable in the understanding and compiling of financial reports.
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines (supervisors, guests and shore sideemployees).
Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German is welcomed but notrequired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand;walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheralvision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life savingprocedures and drills.Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual,verbal andhearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergencyincluding the lowering of lifeboats. Therefore,the ability to lift and/or move up to 50pounds isnecessary.
