Mechanic (Diesel)
BASIC FUNCTION:
The above mentioned position shall carry out the workorders given by the 1st Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- RCLplaces the highest value on the environment, and all employeesshall do the same. Those assigned to this position shall work withsuperiors andsubordinates to understand and comply with the company’senvironmental policies and be committed to safeguard the environment.He shall directly and immediately inform his immediate superior if anyenvironmental system does not function properly.
- General overhauling of Main and Auxiliary Diesel Engines, hereunder:
- Overhauling and replacement of cylinder heads, pistons and liners
- Overhauling of fuel pumps
- Assist with overhauling of miscellaneous propulsion and auxiliarysystems when necessary.
- Additional routines and work as assigned by supervisor.
PREFERABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Watch keeping engineering license
- Experience with Wärtsilä, MAN and Pielstick diesel engines
