REPORTS TO: Quick Service Supervisor, Quick Service Manager (indirectly ARM/RM)

The Gig:

The Quick Service Attendant is responsible for ensuring the most memorable dining experience is delivered to sailors and crew by delivering a friendly, courteous and professional service in the dining venue assigned to them.

What You’ll be Up To:

  • Assigned Outlets: Kitchen Table, Ship Eats, The Galley, Pizza Place, Social Club, Lick Me, Sun Club Café.
  • Maintain positive Sailor and Crew relations at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all items, cooking methods and beverage selections available in the assigned outlet.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation and menus of assigned all and/or outlet.
  • Maintain a full supply of cutlery, china and glasses at all times in the Crew Dining areas.
  • Ensures that the Crew Dining areas are properly set up and open/closed as scheduled.
  • Regularly visits each table of their respective restaurant and/or outlet engaging with and receiving feedback regarding the food and service ensuring sailors have the utmost satisfaction.
  • Ensures all tables assigned to them are consistently clean, organized and tidy.
  • Ensure that all restaurant products, equipment and cleaning materials are used in a cost-effective manner.
  • Informs their appropriate supervisor or manager regarding all sailor issues, special requests, suggestions and complaints and where possible, seeks to resolve.
  • Prepares mise-en-place to ensure their respective area is ready for service.
  • Offers and refills water, bread, butter, beverage and any other item required.
  • Follows health rules and regulations according to USPH guidelines.
  • Partakes in cleaning routines after service and ensures the appearance and condition of all items including silverware and tableware meet Virgin Voyages standards.
  • Be familiar with all cruise services/features and activations to respond to Sailor inquiries accurately.
  • Ensures compliance with the Company alcohol policy and notifies Restaurant Manager if Sailors/Crew are in danger of breaching.
  • Assists with embarkation/disembarkation procedures and luggage handling as and when required.
  • Performs other restaurant, Room Service and Crew Dining Service duties as and when required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Partakes in inspections, trainings and meetings as required by Head of Department.
  • Ensures that the set standards are kept and staff members work according to their respective job descriptions.

Super Powers Required:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as Room Service/Quick Service Attendant onboard a Cruise ship or 4/5 star hotel/resort or restaurant.
  • Passionate about people and able to handle guest complaints with a smile!
  • All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
  • Good command of the English Language
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
