Reports To: Senior Welder, Staff Chief Engineer

Role Overview:

Set sail on a new career with Carnival, and help bring the FUN to life aboard one of their fantastic vessels! We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Welders!

As part of the amazing Engine Team, Welders help to maintain and repair the ships by ensuring that any required welding is completed. Welders play a vital part in ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and all outlets in board are maintained correctly to ensure we can provide the best amenities and services to guests to ensure they have a FUN and memorable vacation! You will enjoy working both on your own and as part of a larger team you will be hard working and like a challenge but also like to Have FUN!

Job Functions:

• Ensures that all work permits are issued and signed, before starting jobs
• Ensures that Fire Patrol has been assigned and is present before any hot work is started.
• Ensures all welding devices are properly and safely stored upon completion of work
• Checks and keeps in good order all welding devices and ancillaries. Reports to staff Chief Engineer any malfunction or failure of welding equipment
• Keeps in perfect order and cleanliness the welding workshop including oxygen and gas storage rooms.
• Ensures that all aspects of company occupational health and safety are effectively applied during all working activities
• Reports to Staff Chief Engineer and requests refilling and welding gasses/oxygen bottles without exceeding storage capacity
• Adhere to all Environmental policies and procedures
• Fully participates in all safety training and drills.

Experience and Education:

• Preferred Education: High School Diploma and Technical Training
• Certification: Basic Training Certificate as per STCW 95 regulations
• Required: experience of working as a welder
